BUFETE TRIAS DE BES started out as a family business, and is currently run by its founding partner Federico Trias de Bes Recolons.

From 1957, continuing a family tradition begun in the 19th Century, Federico Trias de Bes began his practice in Madrid, specializing in the area of international, contract and corporate law. From the 1960s until the mid-70s, he had offices in both Madrid and Barcelona, bringing in other recently qualified lawyers from the family during the decade. In 1968 he set up definitively at his current Barcelona address of Pau Claris, 108, principal floor, which had previously been the notary office of his father, D. Federico Trias de Bes Giró.

In 1978 the Bufete Trias de Bes, as a direct result of his international vocation, merged with Studio Magnoni of Milan (Italy), under the name of Estudio Jurídico Internacional, and continued this professional relationship up until the beginnings of the 90s.

In the 21st Century, coordination of the firm is in the hands of Gonzalo Trias de Bes Quiñones de León, and is made up of lawyers and economists, as well as other outside specialists with direct collaboration agreements.

He is also on the Executive Committee of the European Group CLARIS BLC Business Law Consultants, which was set up in 1999, with offices in Lisbon, Madrid y Santiago de Compostela. (www.claris-blc.com)
